Fresh from unveiling its latest flagship, the P9, Huawei is not resting on its laurels as another flagship project will reportedly be revealed next month. The Honor V8 is said to be placed as another top-tier lineup but with a competitive $308 price tag.
According to GSM Arena, reports out of China have already painted the Huawei Honor V8 as a top-tier flagship. It will reportedly feature the Kirin 950 chipset, the same processor in another device, the Huawei Mate 8. In addition, the Honor V8 will also feature 4GB of RAM.
However, Phone Arena mentions that Huawei has yet to confirm the specs of the Honor V8, particularly the Kirin 950 chipset. Huawei has already used Snapdragon processors in the company's flagships. The industry observer added that at the least, the upcoming Honor V8 may feature 3GB of RAM.
Other reported features and specs of the Huawei Honor V8 include a 5.5-inch display with 1080 resolution and a 3,000 mAh battery. In addition, it is reported that the flagship will also use a USB Type-C port, which means that it can be expected that the Honor V8 will have a slim form factor and sleek body profile.
It is also reported that although the Honor V8 is a flagship project, it will carry a price tag of around $308.
Meanwhile, DigitalTrends said that as a flagship, the Honor V8 is also expected to carry the same dual-cam setup that the recent Huawei P9 has. While Huawei has yet to confirm this, the industry follower said that teasers hint at a dual-cam setup, as hints like the "#OO" tag were also used for the Huawei P9. It is unclear, though, if the Honor V8 will also use the same Leica setup seen on the P9.
