Fresh from its Honor 8 release, Huawei will again unveil a new lineup addition next week. According to a company teaser, the new Honor Note 8 will be unveiled on August 1.

Reports out of China say that Huawei has recently teased a new flagship offering for its Honor sub-brand, and it will be a phablet. Allegedly, the new Honor Note 8 will sport a massive 6.6-inch display with 2K HD resolution. With this dimension, the new Honor 8 is expected to go head to head with the current biggest iteration in the phablet category, the Xiaomi Mi Max.

The rest of the specs detail the Honor Note 8 to be another flagship iteration. According to rumored specs, the new phablet will carry Huawei's own top-tier Kirin chipsets. The phablet will come out in two options, one as a base model with Kirin 950, while there will also be a top-tier, premium variant with Kirin 955 chipset. In addition, it is said that the Honor Note 8 will come out with different RAM/storage configurations. The base model is expected to carry 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, while the top-tier version will have 4GB of RAM and at least 64GB of onboard storage. While it is largely unconfirmed, it is expected that the different lineup versions will have expandable storage.

Other rumored specs for the Honor Note 8 include a fingerprint scanner, Android Marshmallow 6.0 platform, and a 13MP main camera with dedicated dual flash. Its selfie snapper is thought to have a 5MP setup. Meanwhile, it will have USB Type-C connectivity and an adequate 4,400 mAh battery.

The Honor lineup is available as a global brand for Huawei, though it is unclear if the Huawei Honor Note 8 will also come out of China. However, although it has top-tier specs, it is expected to maintain a competitive price, as the new iteration is said to carry a price tag of $344 at the most.
