HTC One M8 Prime release date will be delayed as the development of the device was suspended indefinitely.

According to reliable tipster @evleaks, the development of HTC One M8 Prime was put "on hold" for an indefinite time. Many speculated that the company will focus on another handset. Experts think that the Taiwanese mobile manufacturer is up to something that has similar specs with HTC One M8 Prime.

The same Twitter user posted that the handset will pack a 5.5 inch HD display, waterproof body made out of liquid silicone and aluminum. The HTC M8 Prime should also have had a quad-core 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 805 processor, 3 GB of RAM, dual lens rear camera that packed a dual LED flash and LTE-A Cat.

According to Android Origin, HTC is working on a new handset simply because its competitors are all set to introduce new handsets on the same timeline. Thus, HTC may need a device that will match up against its rival smartphones. It seemed that HTC will have something up on its sleeve before the year ends.

Rumors claimed that HTC One M8 Prime will pack a 5.5-inch screen display with 2K pixel resolution. The handset was rumoured to run with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 805 or 810 CPU paired with a 3GB of RAM. Just like its brothers, HTC One M8 Prime will be available in 16GB and 32GB storage variants supported by external storage of up to 128GB via microSD slot. The handset will run with Android 4.4.3 version of Kitkat OS. Although water resistant feature is not something new, HTC is known for offering cheaper devices compared to other handsets that packed the same feature such as Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia smartphones.

However, HTC has not announced any of the aforementioned rumors and consumers must wait for the official announcement whether it will release a new handset and not the HTC One M8 Prime.
