The upcoming third episode of "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 will feature a new court case, as the show will every week. Meanwhile, the fire at Annalise's (Viola Davis) house will be taking away someone pivotal from the show.

The reason that this season is different from the previous ones that featured one big case per season is because there are a lot that needs to be worked out in the characters' personal lives, said series creator Pete Nowalk in an interview with Variety.

Nowalk has taken a character-driven approach in the series. "Basically my goal was to find a mystery that did feel very organic and that touches all of their lives in a more personal way," he explained.

For the upcoming third episode of the season titled "Always Bet Black," Annalise will take on a high-profile case and the Keating 5 will be pushed to their limits once again. But it looks like they will have a little bit of fun when they arrive in Atlantic City as seen in the episode 3 promo.

Laurel (Karla Souza) will also be getting information about Frank's (Charlie Weber) whereabouts from someone unexpected.

Other than expecting new cases every week, fans can also expect that one new person will be shown in the flash forwards, narrowing down the options for who that person is under the sheet. Conrad Ricamora — who plays Oliver — shared that the person under the sheet is someone "pivotal to the show, but it will be very unexpected."

It's no secret among the cast of the show, and according to Ricamora, "It's a loss and it's heartbreaking."

Who will Annalise lose in the fire at her house?

"How to Get Away With Murder" season 3, episode 3 — "Always Bet Black" —premieres Thursday, Oct. 6 at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
