'House of Cards' season 3 updates: Filming to conclude soon, series expected to come back by March 2015

The third season of the Netflix political drama series "House of Cards" is finally in the pipeline. Though the premiere date remains unknown, fans feel that it is finally looming. According to Air Herald, series creator Beau Willimon informed everyone through Twitter that the production is at its closing stages. But while waiting, fans have learned of exciting rumors and expectations on what the upcoming season will bring.

Needless to say, the warfare will be at full blast now that new and more powerful adversaries come Frank Underwood's (Kevin Spacey) way, especially after the callous and cunning politician finally assumed the position he took lives for — the most influential role in the United States — at the end of the second season. It is reported that Underwood will meet his new foes from Russia. Activist band Pussy Riot is said to take part in the upcoming season as well. What remains unexplained though is how it will all pan out.

At the end of the previous season, the show had many wondering what fate Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly) will come to. The comeback of Underwood's trusty assistant is still subject to debates. On the other hand, there also exists a speculation that a terrorist from the east will strive to bring peril to the new president of the United States. In other rumors, "Hunger Games" star Mahershala Ali revealed that his character Remy Danton will continue to contest Underwood's actions and at the same time go into an "emotional transition" to fortify himself in combating his former ally's shenanigans.

"He's more three dimensional and you learn more about his life outside of the work this season," Ali told Hollywood Reporter.

Also, "House of Cards" does not slow down on killing. Ali's Romy Danton may not evade from one but neither will Underwood. Speculations suggest that the scheming protagonist of the series will finally come face to face with death. This is the story the original British series the show adapted goes by. Should the upcoming season pursue the BBC mini-series, Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) is close to ordering his own husband's death soon.

The release date of "House of Cards" is still unannounced but following its release pattern for its first two seasons, "House of Cards" season 3 will come to Netflix by February or March next year.
