Apparently, no game studio is better (or stranger, being the more accurate term) at letting its patrons know of a title's release date than Dennaton Games and Devolver Digital. Recently, the companies behind the much-awaited game "Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number" informed fans of the date they will be able to get the title, but in the most cryptic manner.
In the official "Hotline Miami" Twitter account, there is a phone number (+1 (786) 519-3708 ext 10) tweeted complete with a Miami area code.
Callers of the phone number hear a creepy voicemail from the other end saying, "We are 50 blessings. Together we march [reiterated a few times] into the future. You have reached a wrong number."
The biggest catch in the message is the blatant reverberation of the word March, which many believe to be a hint that "Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number" is coming out in March. The exact date, on the other hand, is assumed to be based on the number 10 on the phone number itself, which gives gamers the date March 10.
The uncovered date falls on a Tuesday, the same day new games for PlayStation Network come out. So it is highly likely that March 10, 2015 will be the day the all new 2D top-down action video game will get off the ground or at least PlayStation console owners will get a hold of the game. The game is set to arrive to Windows PC, Mac and Linux as well.
For fans of the bloody and brutal franchise, uncanny promotion is something they now enjoy as a perk. Back in October, "Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number" fans were teased with a live-action short film, which is simply a scene of sheer carnage that goes on for six full minutes. This short is aptly titled, "Do You Like to Hurt People?"
