Hillsong's David Ware shares four tips on how people can maintain consistency in life

Hillsong's David Ware talks about the four things people need to be consistent with in their lives. Hillsong

Hillsong's worship leader Pastor David Ware has just shared four tips on how to maintain consistency in life, and he hopes that people will be able to use them to achieve success in their own lives.

As a worship leader, Ware finds himself juggling several responsibilities in order to maintain his dream vocation. "As far as my journey is concerned, consistency has been a great key to any successes in my life and also one of the things I continue to grow in and struggle to keep sharp," he wrote in the Hillsong blog.

The first thing people need to be consistent about is their heart for service. "I am led by calling, not comfort," said Ware, and it means that people should "RUN toward the prize, not RELAX towards it." Ware explained that people should place their calling higher than their comfort.

The next consistency goes by the phrase, "I am led by Godly wisdom, not worldly culture." Ware himself justifies certain attitudes and behaviours without sifting through God's word or even praying about it. But people need to constantly check God's word and use this as a "filter" for making decisions in life.

The third thing involves relationships, and Ware said, "I am led by God-destiny relationships, not self-sympathetic friendships." Friends play an important role in one's life, and the writer believes that the quality of one's friendships also determines the person's future.

"The best way to develop consistency in YOU is to seek the friendship and counsel of OTHERS who have walked the path of consistency in their own lives," he said.

Lastly, Ware reminded people that they should be "led by conviction, not by emotions." He admitted that this is something he needs to personally achieve as well. "I have realised that my emotions are not always accurate or even a true indicator of a situation, they change day by day, hour by hour and even minute by minute – but something that never changes is the Godly convictions principles that I aim to live my life by," he said.
