GoPro, the company that develops high-definition extreme-action cameras, has not made any official announcement on a GoPro Hero 4 camera. Rumors have come out since last year, but the excitement seemed to have escalated in recent weeks, perhaps because the Hero 2, Hero 3, and the Hero 3+ were all released in the last quarter of the previous years.
The company remains mum about any plans to release a new model, but that hasn't stopped the buzz. Some claim that the release date is scheduled for October, while some say that the official release has been moved to March of next year.
At any rate, the present top-of-the-line cam by GoPro is the Hero 3+ Black Edition, which the company currently calls its most advanced camera to date.
GoPro says in its website, "Combined with 30% longer battery life, 4x faster Wi-Fi, a sharper lens and compatibility with all GoPro mounts and accessories, the HERO3+ Black Edition is the most advanced GoPro yet."
The Hero 3+ Black Edition's video modes include 4Kp15, 2.7Kp30, 1440p48, 1080p60, 1080p60 (Superview – wide angle), 960p100, and 720p120, with screen resolutions ranging from [1280 x 720] to [3840 x 2160]. The 12 MP camera allows users to take still pictures at up to 30 frames per second, and they have the option to change the intervals between clicks using the Time Lapse mode – 0.5, 1, 2, 5, 10, 30 or 60 seconds. When pressing the shutter down using Continuous Photo, they can capture full-resolution still images at three, five, or 10 frames per second.
The device also has improved audio, faster Wi-Fi, and produces sharper images than its predecessors. It also features a new auto low light mode.
The Hero 3+ Black Edition already has very impressive features, and one can only imagine how else GoPro would improve on it. Fans will find out when the company is finally ready to launch GoPro Hero 4.
