Aside from the Pixel and Pixel XL flagships, Google is reportedly adding another laptop to the lineup. Supposedly, the Pixel 3 will come out next year with major improvements and new features.

In an exclusive, Android Police mentions that as per independent and reliable sources, Google will not be stopping with new flagship smartphones, as the tech giant will come out with a follow-up laptop under the Pixel lineup. Dubbed as the Pixel 3, the new device will supposedly highlight major upgrades and fresh features.

Ostensibly, one noted new feature is that the Pixel 3 will be the first to carry Google's new hybrid platform, the Andromeda OS. The new version is a combination of Android and Chrome OS, focused on work-related tasks and performance.

As for what fans can expect from the new laptop, the report suggests that the Pixel 3 is supposed to come out with an ultra-thin design featuring a 12.3-inch display. It is unclear, however, if Google plans for the 2-in-1 laptop to be a convertible hybrid or a tablet-focused design with detachable keyboards. Other purported specs include a fingerprint scanner, stylus support, USB Type-C ports, and a headphone jack. It is expected that the Pixel 3 will run on an Intel Core processor with different configurations, as well as different onboard storage choices. There is also a number of RAM options which could go up to 16 GB.

The new Pixel 3 concept comes amidst reports of a new Google tablet that will also reportedly run on Andromeda OS, slated for release before the year ends. Should this happen, the new 7.0-inch, a Huawei-built slate is likely to be positioned as part of the Pixel family rather than being a rumored Nexus 7 follow-up. It is known that the Nexus lineups carry pure, stock Android, which is one of the series' signature selling features.
