'Game of Thrones' Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas wedding news: Maisie Williams asked to be bridesmaid

"Game of Thrones" star Maisie Williams is set to play the role of real-life bridesmaid in "Game of Thrones" co-star and friend Sophie Turner's upcoming wedding to singer and actor Joe Jonas.

While doing an interview with Radio Times regarding her character in the new animated film "Early Man," Williams was asked whether she was "bidding for a role of bridesmaid" in the Turner–Jonas nuptials. She replied saying, "Oh, already got it... It's very, very exciting. It's kind of bizarre, though."

As for the date of the upcoming wedding, Williams said that the couple is waiting for the eighth and final "Games of Thrones" season to finish filming before pursuing the wedding's "planning stages."

Turner and Jonas surprised fans when they announced their engagement last year in coordinated Instagram posts.

According to Vanity Fair, the two started dating in October 2016 and "went public" last year. The two have been very private about their relationship, only appearing together in rare posts on their social media accounts.

Turner, however, is not the only "Game of Thrones" star planning to tie the knot. Kit Harrington will also be getting married to costar Rose Leslie sometime during the filming period of the final season. Harrington has reportedly asked "Game of Thrones" producers to hold filming so that the entire cast can attend their wedding. While asking for permission to pause filming, he also blamed the producers for why the wedding is happening in the first place — they had paired him with Leslie.

The "Games of Thrones season 8" will premiere in 2019. Williams' "Early Man," on the other hand, is set to be released on Feb. 8.
