Almost a month has passed since HBO aired the epic season 5 finale of "Game of Thrones" but fans of the hit fantasy series are still talking about the unexpected fate of one of its most beloved characters and his possible future in season 6.
In the episode titled "Mother's Mercy," Night's Watch Lord Commander Jon Snow (Kit Harington) was stabbed multiple times by his own men, and left him to die in the snow. Fans of the show do not want to accept the fact that he is already dead, which is why multiple theories have surfaced online.
One of the most prevalent theories claim that Jon Snow managed to warg into his direwolf's body. The other is that the red priestess Melisandre (Carise van Houten) would bring him back to life. They also hold on to the fact that Harington still wears his hair long even if he earlier stated that he will cut his hair short after his stint in the series is over.
But according to Maisie Williams, the actress who portrays the role of Jon Snow's half-sister Arya, Jon Snow might be really dead.
"I think people are trying to be very positive about this, like, 'It's fine. He's coming back. He's totally coming back, right? He's going to come back?" the actress told E! News during the promo of her "Always #LikeAGirl" campaign.
But she added that she does not believe any of the theories, and even claimed that Harington might have chosen to keep his hair long for no apparent reason. Williams also shot down the speculations that Melisandre will bring Jon Snow back to life.
"I feel like she's far too selfish for all of that," she said.
But if Jon Snow is truly dead and will no longer return, Arya's other brother Bran (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) might reappear in "Game of Thrones" season 6 after missing out on season 5.
Screen Rant believes that Bran might appear again in the series through the legendary Winterfell weirwood tree called the Heart Tree. He is also believed to have the power to connect with the people in the past and contact a person in the present times.
Based on speculations, Bran could either get hold of his sister Sansa (Sophie Turner) or Theon (Alfie Allen) to help them escape the dangers in the north.
But fans still have to wait until "Game of Thrones" season 6 airs next year to see which of these speculations are right.
