Fusebox: Fancy a little extra power?

Kingsway announced the release of Fusebox, an exciting new series of compilations.

Fusebox is the family name for the release of a very select bunch of albums; fourteen classics of the last twenty years that have done more than their fair share of defining and accelerating the growth of contemporary worship around the world. But here’s the great bit: by pairing them up and setting them free across just seven releases, we’re able to slash the price to just £12.99 for each double album.

It’s not all about the money though. The careful combination of these great albums benefits from some powerful synergy. In every fusebox is a remarkable power that inspires and encourages at every turn.

Listen to these greats again, paired up and back to back and it’s clear that it’s about a whole lot more than strolling down memory lane. These are the landmarks and the guideposts that have helped bring the church to the place we are at today. And they’re still pointing us forward, still urging us on to take the next step in the journey, still powering us up for the adventures to come.

Delirious?: Glo and Mezzamorphis
1999’s Mezzamorphis and the 2000 release Glo stand out not so much for their apparent difference – but their inner common ground. Mezzamorphis is full of musical candy and lyrics that left a new wave of listeners with fresh questions, while Glo waves the flag for outrageously-church-oriented praise. Like a loved-one back from a year of travelling, Glo brought with it all that was exciting, fresh and inspired from the mainstream. Across the two albums are such classics as ‘Investigate’, ‘Mezzanine Floor’, ‘God You Are My God’, ‘See The Star’, ‘My Glorious’, ‘Heaven’, ‘Bliss’ and ‘Jesus’ Blood’.

Delirious?: Cutting Edge One & Two, Cutting Edge Three & Fore
If ever anyone makes a documentary about the growth of worship within the UK towards the end of the twentieth century, these two albums will provide the bulk of the soundtrack. The journey is told brilliantly by the music itself, starting out with the church youth group sounds of ‘The Happy Song’, reaching out with ‘Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble’, amping up with ‘Obsession’ and ‘I’m Not Ashamed’. There are songs that the whole world sings today – like ‘I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever’ – as well as hidden gems – like ‘Coming Back’, ‘When All Around Has Fallen’ and ‘All I Want Is You’ - that will inspire and refresh in an instant.

Delirious?: King of Fools and Live And In The Can
Delirious? were always best served live, and 1996’s Live And In The Can is the only evidence you’ll ever need to back up such a claim. Having recorded a whole year’s worth of gigs, the band produced an album soaked right the way through the disk with a sense of God’s people lining up for a fresh adventure. King Of Fools, the band’s debut full length studio album, is the sound of that first stage of the journey. From the optimism of ‘Revival Town’ to the challenge of ‘Promise’ and ‘White Ribbon Day’, the album hit the charts and launched ‘Deeper’ further than any ever thought it would go.

Stuart Townend: Lord of Every Heart and Monument to Mercy
From one of the most gifted modern hymnwriters around today come two classic albums. The 2002 release Lord of Every Heart is a gem of a studio album that contains ‘In Christ Alone’, ‘Across The Lands’ and a stunning rendition of ‘Grace’. Four years later came Monument To Mercy, a fresh
departure for Stuart. Piano takes the lead rather than guitar and songs like ‘The Power of the Cross’, ‘Kyrie’ and ‘Every Promise’ – a duet with Lou Fellingham – all help create a brave, magnificent
album.

Stuart Townend: Personal Worship and Say The Word
“There seems to be such an emphasis today on corporate, Sunday morning worship,” explained Stuart when asked about the album Personal Worship, “that we can forget that the call is to be a worshipper of God in daily life. And as I thought about writing songs that moved away from the big Sunday Experience and helped articulate the personal, day-by-day walk with God, I found myself writing with a painful honesty and vulnerability I hadn’t explored before.” The result is outstanding: stripped back, bare, devoid of overdubs or stacked backing vocals and full of power.
Say The Word is Stuart’s first solo studio album, featuring ‘How Deep The Father’s Love’ and many others. Helped by the talents of musicians Bryn Haworth, Mark Edwards, Raul D’Oliviera and Mal Pope, Stuart’s debut marks out the journey his remarkable career will take. Intimate, engaging and continually inspirational.

Soul Survivor: Glimpses Of Glory and Anthem of the Free
The hugely popular summer festivals from Soul Survivor follow a familiar pattern: tens of thousands of young people gathering for a dramatic encounter with God underpinned by intimate, Jesus focused worship. But just because the patterns might be similar, the experiences are as diverse as they come. And so are the albums.
2002’s Glimpses of Glory and the following year’s Anthem of the Free feature songs written and led by Tim Hughes, Matt Redman, Vicky Beeching and others – songs like ‘Oh Happy Day’, ‘I Can Only Imagine’, ‘Blessed Be Your Name’ and ‘Beautiful One’.

Martyn Layzell: Lost In Wonder and Turn My Face
Having led worship at Soul Survivor, New Wine and Spring Harvest, Martyn Layzell’s solo albums are rooted in the church. Lost In Wonder won CBC Album Of The Year in 2004 while the cross-focused Turn My Face brought in even more attention. Featuring ‘Lost In Wonder’, ‘King Jesus I Believe’, ‘Praise You’, ‘Turn My Face Again’ and ‘I Stand In Awe’, these two albums are essentials in any
collection.
