Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Andre Berto news: Mayweather again stands up for Berto

Floyd Mayweather Jr. really believes in the ability of his next opponent Andre Berto and in an interview video posted by Fighthype.com, the undefeated champion again had good words for his next challenger.

When Mayweather made the announcement that he will be facing Berto, a lot of people were surprised and started to question who Berto is and what he did to get a shot at the number one pound-for-pound king.

The 38-year-old champion already said before that Berto is entertaining and is deserving of a title shot.

Now Mayweather is saying that Berto will be pushing him in their bout on Sept. 12 at the MGM Grand.

"Berto's a tough competitor. He's a guy that's going to push me," Mayweather said in the video posted by Fighthype.com.

Mayweather also said a jab can get the job done but against Berto, he will need to throw more combinations and must go to the body.

He believes that Berto will be going in bringing his A-game and that is what he will be doing as well.

"I think everybody is overlooking Berto, and I think the betting odds should be a lot closer," Mayweather stated.

He added that the fight against Berto should have happened when they were both undefeated but it did not, although he added, "The time is now."

When asked if he will be delivering a knockout, Mayweather said they will push one another and it will be an exciting fight.

He added that it will not be like his last fight against rival Manny Pacquiao, which he said was a calculated match.

"The last fight [against Manny Pacquiao] was more like a chess match. This is more like checkers — real quick and fast," Mayweather added, talking about his future fight against Berto.

The "Money" guaranteed that the fans will not see the best Mayweather nor a good Mayweather, but a great Mayweather.
