While players continue to enjoy Bethesda's newest installment in its long-running and popular "Fallout" franchise, many are already asking when the developer will be expanding the Wastelands. Hardcore fans may not have that long to wait as speculations say that the new update is the beginning of Bethesda's preparation in releasing new content for "Fallout 4."

To date, all the versions of "Fallout 4" are already updated into patch 1.3, as the update recently went live for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of "Fallout 4." The console versions update followed last week's patch 1.3 rollout for the PC version.

According to N4BB, Bethesda may already be planning to prepare a roll-out of planned expansion content for the title since patch 1.3 significantly increased object-fading distances. This means that now, players can see into greater distances when checking out the Wastelands.

While it is unclear why Bethesda included this significant improvement in the current update, the tweak dovetails with rumors of upcoming "Fallout 4" DLC expansion, said to be adding new locations underwater. The industry observer also mentioned Bethesda already hinting at an early 2016 release for new expansion packs for the game. In addition, the new DLCs will be stretched all throughout the year and beyond, so players can expect a steady stream of new content and expansion for "Fallout 4."

Meanwhile, patch 1.3 also included a number of improvements and gameplay changes for the title. In the patch notes listed by GameSpot, the new update also included gameplay fixes for system glitches and missions bugs found by players, as well as improvements in the workshop features of the game. Patch 1.3 also included version-specific updates, such as adding a new ambient occlusion setting for the PC version, and adding weapon debris effects exclusive to Nvidia cards.
