'Evolve' Day-One patch releases with title

"Evolve" may just be rolling out today but it already strives to take the monster-killing experience to a whole new level. Turtle Rock Studios is releasing the asymmetrical, cooperative and competitive shooter video game today along with a 3 GB day-one patch that will significantly improve the loading times in the game. Now that is living up to the name.

Before hacking and slashing, players will have to download the said patch, which varies in size depending on the system. The update will come to balance tweaks so as to polish up the hunters and monsters within "Evolve." The patch's heaviness is also due to the game developer's aim to optimize the performance of the game in any system. This includes improving load times as well as matchmaking and network bandwidth.

There are also general bug fixes to be expected. This is the outgrowth of the alpha and beta versions of the title made available to gamers. Turtle Rock Studios is grateful to fans for being part of the development process of "Evolve." The game is bound to be "much stronger" with the patch deployed.

Speaking of fans, it was their feedback that led the studio to incorporate new elite skins for hunters and monsters alike in the patch. Turtle Rock removed the initial items in the game and replaced them with new, much better ones. All "Evolve" players have to do is unlock and earn them along the way.

Lastly, the patch promises connectivity with the "Evolve" Hunters Quest app. It is a "fun Match-3 puzzle combat game" that allows gamers to earn experience and watch overhead match replays. The app can also be tied to the game with the use of my2K servers and charges nothing.

"Evolve" is out today and it should be a more dynamic play, thanks to the all-important day-one patch.
