'Elder Scrolls 6' release date: Bethesda remains silent on possibility next installment

 Bethesda

Game company Bethesda still has a couple of months left before their highly anticipated "Fallout 4" title comes out in retail shops, which means that "The Elder Scroll" fans will still have to wait a little more before they can finally hear any developments regarding the sixth installment of their favorite game.

The last time the game studio had a major "Elder Scrolls" release was back in 2012, when "The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim" became available in the market. Since then, the clamor for a new open-world fantasy video game title has intensified each year. But it seems like there will be no new "Elder Scrolls" title coming anytime soon, with the developer still silent about the game at the moment.

Dual Shockers reported last month that during the Gamescom event in Berlin, Bethesda Vice-President of Marketing Pete Hines revealed that the studio might not be coming up with any "Elder Scrolls 6" announcement anytime soon. According to the report, Hines confessed that Bethesda is still focused on "Fallout 4," and it will still require the full attention of the developers even beyond its November release date.

Metro also added more insider details about the report, saying that Bethesda normally works on one game at a time since they only have a small group of dedicated video game developers. This only means that "Elder Scrolls" fans will have to endure without a new title from the franchise at the moment.

But while a new major installment is not possible at this point, the MMORPG title "The Elder Scrolls Online" from ZeniMax Online Studios is currently undergoing new developments. During the Tokyo Game Show 2015, which happened over the weekend, a new teaser site and trailer were unveiled to promote its release sometime in spring 2016. ZeniMax is allegedly working with DMM Games to make a Japanese version of the popular multiplayer game.
