The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center also issued a warning for Colombia, Panama, and Costa Rica.

The warning comes after a giant 6.3 feet wave was spotted off the Chilian port of Pisagua.

The tsunami is expected to hit just before midnight local time. Locals and residents have begun evacuating.

The 8.0 earthquake was centered 50 miles from the coast of Chile with a depth of 6.2 miles.

Residents were called to immediately evacuate Pacific coastal areas by Chile's National Office of Emergency of the Interior Ministry (ONEMI). "SHOA (the Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service of the Chilean Navy) has issued a tsunami warning. ONEMI requests the evacuation of coastal areas in the country," ONEMI stated.

Chile's 8.0 earthquake follows the 5.1 quake that hit Los Angeles and 4.8 Yellowstone Park earthquake that hit the U.S. this past week.
