Duggar family news: Josiah Duggar announces courtship with Lauren Swanson

"Counting On" star Josiah Duggar has found love again! His parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, have happily announced that he has entered into a courtship with his very good friend, Lauren Swanson.

"We are so excited for Josiah & Lauren to start a courtship. Lauren is a precious young lady who has a heart to use her life to serve Jesus. Josiah has matured into a good businessman and a leader with a spiritual focus. Josiah and Lauren make a great ministry team and sweet couple," they wrote on their blog.

Even though they spend so much time together, Swanson revealed in their video announcement that Josiah asking her to enter into a courtship still took her by shock.

"I came up behind her at a meal while she was hanging out with some of my siblings and surprised her," Josiah shared.

"I was very shocked when Josiah came by," Lauren added. "He wasn't supposed to be there; it was a girls' night out."

Happily for Josiah, Swanson said yes.

"It was really good to hear that," he said, adding that they are now focused on "learning about each other, with the goal of marriage in mind." Lauren also said they're "putting God first and [themselves] second."

Josiah is actually the first Duggar child to enter into a second courtship. Back in 2015, he announced his courtship with another family friend, Marjorie Jackson. However, after just four months, they decided to break things off. It was his parents who offered an update about their split on Facebook.

"Many of you have asked us about Josiah and Marjorie," they wrote at the time. "Both Josiah and Marjorie have enjoyed getting to know each other and to build their friendship over the past months. We are so grateful that they each are seeking the Lord's will for their future. A few weeks ago Marjorie and Josiah agreed to end their courtship, keeping in step with what they believe the Lord's will is."
