'Destiny' PC release date: When is it coming?

Last week, Bungie and Activision released versions of the new game "Destiny" for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. PC gamers are, therefore, asking when "Destiny" will be released for PC.

Also last week, Polygon learned that there's actually no news for a possible version for the PC. PC gamers may just have to buy a console version of the game if they want to play it. However, times can change, and seeing how successful the game is, PC gamers should remain hopeful.

Back at E3, CEO of Activision Publishing Erik Hirshberg said, "It is [a good fit], and it's something we're talking about and looking at very carefully, and obviously it makes a lot of sense with the genre and the type of game it is."

He was refering to "Destiny" coming out on PC.

Hirshberg added, "You know, developing on PC is a different animal than developing for consoles and so we just want to make sure that we're putting one foot in front of the other and getting it right, and that it's of the highest possible quality. But obviously I see the same things about the natural fit."

Eric Osborne, Bungie Senior Writer, gives a light of hope to PC Gamers, saying, "We haven't said yes, and we haven't said no. The more platforms we take on, the more work it ultimately becomes, and what we don't want is to compromise the core experience on any platforms. We have a lot of people who play on PCs. We have a lot of appetite to build that experience. We haven't announced it yet, but we're looking forward to talking more about that kind of stuff in the future."

"Destiny" has been rumored to have had a $500 million budget. Needless to say, it is believed to have one of the biggest budgets for a game out there. That's probably the reason why both publisher and developer are making sure that everything works out for their current products as of the moment.

Meanwhile, PC gamers shouldn't expect any clear news about the PC version in the coming months just yet. However, keep the faith that Bungie and Activision may someday launch "Destiny" for PC that might even offer a better experience than what the console versions offer.
