'Death Coming' news: Early access indie game accidentally released by devs

It seems the developers of "Death Coming" mixed up deadlines for their game, as the title has now entered full release status, despite needing to enter early access first.

Indie developer and publisher Next Studio, aspires for an eventual and "real" full release of the game now that it is available for players to test. It is important to note that the game is still in early access despite having a complete status. This is because the game was accidentally released by the developers, and they found out that they could not revert the status back to early access.

Nevertheless, the developers remained positive and did not pull the game out. "Death Coming" was supposed to go from open beta to early access instead of a full release, and there is still much to be improved in the game.

The developers then humbly asked players who bought the game or otherwise, to consider it as an early access title, compelling them to still report any bugs and send feedback whenever possible so that the game can still be finished.

In "Death Coming," players have supposedly died and have somehow become a grim reaper, an agent of death, meaning they must harvest the souls of dead humans. Players won't be able to directly kill humans in order to acquire their souls. Instead, players must cause the humans' deaths, mostly via accidents, which must be carefully planned. This is easier said than done because Minions of Light will seek to hinder the players' dark harvest and try to save the humans from ill fates.

Although the release was botched by the developers, the game was still highly-rated with a 95 percent overall positive rating based on 142 reviews on Steam. No exact "actual" release date has been announced by the developers yet, but the game is available right now as a de-facto early access for the PC.
