Just nearly a month away from the "Dancing With The Stars" Season 19 premiere, showrunner Rob Wade shared a couple of important things to note before ushering in the new season. He addressed the rumor of a major shakeup of professional dancers in season 19.
Wade told TheTVPage that despite having a core group of dancers that they love, they are always on the lookout for fresh cast members."We are always looking for new dancers. We are always looking for fresh cast members. We have a core of people that we love. It is not that we are not happy with the dancers. Again, we have a couple of ideas for that are that we are looking at," says Wade.
Even Kristyn Burtt gave a teaser about the pros shakeup on her Instagram account. She uploaded a 15-second video in which she stated: "I heard he met with all the talent this summer, some we haven't seen in a long time but they're still under contract. Maybe we'll see some new pros, because there's a change in the air."
When fans asked her about this "change," she replied "A few pro slots open because a few pros taking time off." When someone asked if celebrities will be the new casts, Burtt said "Yes!"
Burtt didn't stop there. When a fan suggested that Dmitry Chaplin should return, Burtt replied by saying, "He is probably not under contract anymore. It's been a long time since he's been on the show."
Meanwhile, apart from the pros shakeup, will there also be a shakeup on the judge's table? We've heard that "DWTS" Season 18 winner Maksim Chmerkovskiy will no longer be hitting the dance floor, but there's a chance he'll be sitting across the dancers for this season.
Also, Wade told TheTVPage that he is hoping for Simon Cowell to be a guest judge for season 19. "He is a phenomenal talent. I would love him to come and guest judge on our show. I have got to find out when he is in LA." This doesn't come as a surprise as Wade had worked with Cowell several times already.
The full cast announcement for "Dancing With The Stars" Season 19 will be made on September 4, while the debut episode will air on September 15.
