'Constantine' Season 2 news: is show going to be revived for another season?

It came as a rude shock to fans when NBC abruptly refused to renew the "Constantine"series after the first season aired on the TV network. Nevertheless, the show's critics weren't taken aback considering the poor ratings that the pilot season of the show had received.

And now, with "Constantine" lovers continuing to wallow in disappointment, even the lightest rumour of a renewal is cause for celebration. And CW Network might just turn out to be the knight in shining armour. According to iDigital Times, the complete episodes of Season 1 are all available on CW Seed.

With "The Vampire Diaries"coming to a close on The CW, the Friday night horror slot on the channel is due for replacement. Movie News Guide explains that if the first season of "Constantine" that is currently streaming on CW Seed garners the right level of viewership, the network is almost certain to air Season 2 of the show. If things don't turn out well, "iZombie" may end up the winner.

What works in favour of "Constantine" is how much both fans and critics loved Matt Ryan's portrayal of the show's protagonist and titular character John Constantine. In fact, the character's popularity brought in a cameo appearance in Season 4 of the popular show "Arrow." More such cameos on "Legends of Tomorrow" and on the fifth season of "Arrow" are likely.

Show creator Marc Guggenheim shared a photo on Twitter, showing the cast all set for the table-read of the second season of "Legends of Tomorrow." The face of one of the guys around the table was deliberately pixilated, and rumours suggest that this could be Matt Ryan. If another cameo is in the offing, this only means John Constantine is popular enough to keep fans excited. And by extension, that could serve as a major factor in bringing back the TV show for a second season.
