Football fans were worried when the Seahawks got off to a slow start with two losses right at the start of the season. But on Sept. 27, the Seahawks won the game against the Chicago Bears at 26-0, which seemed to mollify some fans who thought that the Seattle team's misfortune was caused by Ciara.

Ciara has been dating quarterback Russell Wilson for several months now, and according to some die-hard fans, the team may have fallen to what some have coined as "The Ciara Curse," which has allegedly caused some of her exes'—including rapper Future—careers to languish while she was dating them.

One avid fan even started a GoFundMe page in hopes of breaking up the "Goodies" singer with the quarterback. The campaign, which has been removed from the crowdfunding platform, asked for fans to raise $50,000 to help ensure that the singer would be busy with her own career and ensure that "she has no time to be in a relationship."

Ciara recently spoke with Rolling Stone and said that for her, people saying that she brought bad luck to Wilson's team "don't make any sense."

"It's happened to people in our world, it's not a new thing when people say things—it comes with the territory," Ciara said.

The singer could be alluding to the fact that in the past, other celebrities have also been blamed for their partners' game performances. It can be recalled that Jessica Simpson took a lot of heat for Tony Romo's less than stellar playing on the field when they were still together, while Kate Upton has been accused of distracting Justin Verlander from bringing his A-game. Recently, Drake also experienced some backlash from fans when Serena Williams lost at the U.S. open.

Ciara said that she's choosing to ignore the negative comments and "focus on the positive" and the good things that are happening in her life.

"That's how I live my life, and I have to say life is good," she said.
