Chris Rock and Eminem could be getting together to work on a track on the rap star's new album.

Eminem's new album is rumored to have a release date for later this summer 2013, and comedian, Rock, has hinted that he could be featured on one of the tracks on the album.

Speaking to Fuse TV earlier this week, Rock, gave a clear indication that he could be featured: "Hey, hey, I was on the Kanye [West] record… maybe I'm on the Eminem record. You never know."

Those comments could have just been a joke, as it's not unusual for Rock just to speak off the cuff. However, following that Rock posted a photo of himself in the studio standing alongside Eminem, sparking frenzied activity on social media sites among fans of both the rapper and comedian.

Rock previously featured on Kanye West's "Blame Game" track from his My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album in 2011.

Rock may not be the only special guest featuring on Eminem's new album, and the rapper has also been seen in the studio with Big Sean.

There have been conflicting reports about exactly when Eminem's new album will be released. Some have suggested later this summer, however, some have even said as early as May 28.

Most analysts though believe that the new album will hit stores some time in July, and with the excitement building around the new album among his fans, it is likely to be hugely popular and produce good sales.
