Chris Pratt workout for 'Guardians of the Galaxy'; Lifestyle change with healthy eating and exercise

Someone's smiling and it's because his latest movie "Guardians of the Galaxy" just killed it in the box office. Chris Pratt, who plays Peter Quill in the new Marvel film, shares what inspired him to lose weight and how he lost 35 kg for his role.

Pratt was previously known for his role as Andy in "Parks and Recreation" where he played a chubby best friend to the lead star.

In an interview with Glamour Magazine, Pratt candidly answered every question. A year ago, Pratt posted a photo of his new body on Instagram with the caption, "Six months no beer. #GOTG Kinda douchey to post this but my brother made me." Glamour asked him how he was able to do it.

"It's been a complete lifestyle change for about a year and a half now," says Pratt. "I don't drink alcohol like I used to, only eat very clean, healthy foods, and I spend at least an hour every day working out, a massive change in diet and physical activity."

Now that his body fits a superhero, does he intend to keep it that way? Pratt answered, "I think I was a little naïve when I first started acting, maybe ten years ago, and didn't quite realise the impact the way you look has on the people who are making casting decisions. I thought for a while I was going to find a career playing the fat friend, and that was totally fine - it keeps you from waiting tables."

He added, "But doing Zero Dark Thirty opened my eyes to the idea that I could be taken more seriously as a leading man character and so I thought I'd try that. But who knows, maybe this will be the last movie I'll be in shape for and then I'll get fat again. My wife [actress Anna Faris] would appreciate it. She likes me fat."

Pratt is filming his next movie "Jurassic World" and when Glamour asked him what to do if confronted with a T-rex? Pratt jokingly said, "The trick is... [long pause for effect] put your head down between your knees and kiss your a** goodbye."

"Guardians of the Galaxy" is currently showing in cinemas.
