Chris Pratt carves wooden cross to celebrate Easter, posts on Twitter 'He is Risen!'

Chris Pratt happily hung a wooden cross that he carved with a friend to celebrate Easter and resurrection of Jesus. The "Guardians of the Galaxy" star unveiled the work that's now up on an oak tree in his farm on Easter Sunday.

The actor shared the photo of the wooden cross on his Instagram and captioned it with, "He is risen!" In another post, Pratt shared a close up detail of the wooden cross and explained the craftsmanship that went into it.

"It's actually hand carved from a Hawthorn tree we cut down on the farm," Pratt said. "We made spoons. A bunch of spoons. And this cross. And by 'we' I mean my friend Dan on the island who definitely does not have Instagram," the actor added.

Two Easters ago, Pratt also mounted a larger hand-made wooden cross in his property that stood cemented in an open field, which he also shared on his social media account.

The Christian actor doesn't shy away from talking about his faith and is one of Hollywood's most prominent Christian stars. Pratt admitted that his belief in God became stronger after the premature birth of his son, Jack, with ex-wife Anna Faris.

Pratt is often seen going to church services and would sometimes bring along Jack, who is now 5 years old. In recent weeks, Pratt also shared videos where he's teaching his son how to feed the farm animals.

The "Jurassic World" actor runs a farm in Washington, where he unwinds and spends most of his time when he's not busy working on his blockbuster movies. As a farmer, he does plenty of outdoor activities including hunting his own food and then shares the photos on social media.

The actor has been criticized for admitting his love for hunting, but some of his statements about killing animals for food have been misquoted on the Internet, according to Snopes.
