Charles Scott, the head of the Pentecostal Church of God (PCG), has reportedly stepped down following the end of his term.

Before relinquishing his post as PCG general bishop, Scott proposed a massive organisational change in the congregation that "split the convention," leading to his resignation, Charisma News reported.

Scott was elected as the denomination's general bishop back in 2007, and was re-elected again in 2009. He reportedly presented an organisational transformation plan during the PCG General Convention in Arlington, Texas, on June 22 to 26 this year, with the theme called "Be Transformed."

"We look forward to worshipping with you as we seek God's will for the future of the PCG," the denomination wrote on its website.

Scott did not issue a comment when sought for a statement. On the website's PCG Leadership page, Scott's bio read: "Bishop Scott served as evangelist, pastor for eleven years, sectional presbyter in the Arkansas District for five years, Arkansas District youth director for five years, administrative assistant to the General Secretary and Stewardship Ministries Director at the International Headquarters for five years and General Secretary for two years."

Scott holds a Doctorate in Theology and a Bachelor of Science degree in General Business from Missouri Southern State University, a Master's degree in Business Administration from Missouri State University, and is currently completing a Doctor of Education degree from Oral Roberts University.

He is also the author of the book titled "Storms Don't Bother Me."

Scott will be replaced by General Secretary Lloyd L. Naten, who has served as secretary for the Southern California District of the Pentecostal Church of God for eight years and as district bishop for eight years.

During his tenure as Southern California bishop, he also served as an assistant general bishop for the Southwestern Region of the Pentecostal Church of God for four years. He was elected in June 2003 as the director of World Missions for the Pentecostal Church of God. In June 2011, he was elected as their General Secretary.
