Captain America 3 is not going to hit theaters until May 6, 2016, but with the positive critical response to – and box-office success of – Captain America: The Winter Soldier, it's no wonder that fans are eager for information about what they can expect from the third installment of the highly successful Marvel franchise.

MTV News attempted to get details out of Chris Evans, but the actor would not give any concrete information about what his character Captain Rogers will be facing.

He said, "It's this giant web of plot, where everything is connected to everything else... that's the beautiful thing, and especially for the fanboys who understand these plotlines. With Cap 3, we're going to continue this excitement."

There's no indication whether fans will see the re-emergence of The Red Skull, or if Cap will go against his highly conflicted best friend Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan). The end of The Winter Soldier does indicate that viewers can expect to see more of him. What is certain is that the Captain will be facing a formidable foe.

"It's our job on the next one to outdo the villain from the last one..." director Joe Russo told Screen Rant. "If the characters aren't in jeopardy continually throughout the film, then you lose a certain narrative momentum to the movie. As we said, you can only define the hero against the villain. So the greater the villain, the greater definition you get out of your hero."

As for the rumors that he's going to pass on the shield, Evans told MTV News, "Who's handing off the shield? Don't take my job from me prematurely dude. I'm sure it'll happen at some point, all good things have to come to an end. But I'm really happy playing the character."
