"Call of Duty: Black Ops III" will be getting a new downloadable content (DLC), and it will exclusively feature "Zombies" mode .

Titled "Zombie Chronicles," the DLC features the remastered versions of the eight zombie maps of "Call of Duty: World at War," "Call of Duty: Black Ops," and "Call of Duty: Black Ops II." Aside from that, the update will also feature the following contents: an exclusive Pack-a-Punch weapon camo; 20 vials of Liquid Divinium, which is used as both a power-up and an in-game currency; and two new "Whimsical Gobblegums."

According to Jason Blundell, the co-studio head of Treyarch, the decision to create a DLC exclusively featuring the zombie maps is due to what the players want to see in the game. He said in an article on the Activision Games blog, "'Zombies Chronicles' is really about the community that made 'Zombies' what it has become today."

He continued, "Together, we've been slaying the undead for nearly ten years, across different game consoles, and 'Zombies Chronicles' is really about bringing all of those fans together."

"Call of Duty: Black Ops III" will be released for PlayStation 4 on May 16. There is no date given yet on when PC and Xbox One players will be able to get their hands on this. According to Charlie Intel, this is not part of the game's Season Pass, so even those who hold it will need to pay $29.99 in order to get their hands on the DLC. Pre-ordering the DLC will also allow players to get their hands on the dynamic Zombies theme.

Starting May 16, Activision and Treyarch will hold the online event "8 Days of the Undead," during which players of "Call of Duty: Black Ops III," regardless of the gaming platform, as well as those playing "Zombie Chronicles," will be able to earn double the XP while playing. They will also be able to take part in community challenges and stand to win free loot.
