British wrestler Will Ospreay in WWE teased by Drew McIntyre

"The Aerial Assassin" might have found his home overseas, but that did not stop World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar Drew McIntyre from coaxing the British wrestler to come over to the United States.

McIntyre recently posted a tweet showing the 2017 award-winning match that he had with Ospreay with the message "Cheers, William. I'll be seeing you soon."

While many fans are not reading too much into the tweet, saying that the message was just a simple greeting between two friends, pro wrestlers are known to be fond of putting extra meaning to their messages and many superstars in the WWE actually post cryptic tweets all the time, mostly to troll their fans.

What makes McIntyre's tweet interesting, however, is the timing when it was posted. It has recently been reported by news website Mirror that several independent wrestlers such as Ricochet, real name Trevor Mann, and tag team War Machine are already headed to WWE. Ricochet is actually rumored to start appearing for the company this month.

These wrestlers, like Ospreay, have found success in both the independent circuit and in New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) where Ricochet is a former NEVER open weight champion and War Machine the three-time International Wrestling Grand Prix (IWGP) tag team champions.

Ospreay, who is already halfway into his two-year deal with the Japanese promotion, is a former IWGP Junior Heavyweight champion and a Best of the Super Juniors tournament winner. He is the first ever wrestler from the United Kingdom to win the singles title. He lost the belt, however, in his first title defense against Marty Scurll.

If Ospreay indeed signs with the WWE, he would definitely be a great addition to the company. His versatility and reputation will not necessarily ground himself in the company's cruiserweight division, where many highflyers from around the world compete.

He may even be like Irish WWE superstar Finn Balór, who competes for Raw's heavyweight division, despite weighing less than 200 pounds.
