Boxing rumors 2016: Billy Joe Saunders wants to fight at the Emirates Stadium one day

Billy Joe Saunders was at the Emirates Stadium last weekend, given the opportunity to pitch at halftime for the Burnley game. Saunders is, apparently, a big Gooners fan and was obviously thrilled with the warm ovation he received when he appeared.

With the warm reception, the World Boxing Organization (WBO) middleweight champion bared that he hopes to return some day and possibly face Gennady Golovkin or Chris Eubank Jnr.

"The next time I'm here I either want to be playing as Arsenal's new signing or a more realistic option is to fight Golovkin or Eubank. Golovkin would be an tremendous fight for British boxing," said Saunders via Boxing News Online.

The undefeated boxer had talks with the camp of Golovkin for a possible fight this April, although talks bogged down. Saunders had wanted something more than what Triple G's camp had on the table, but both eventually decided to part ways.

While that didn't end out well, it seems that Saunders is not completely closing the door to a possible tiff in the future. A potential fight with Golovkin is seen as pretty lucrative if compared to a joust with Eubank.

Eubank and Saunders are no strangers to each other. They already faced off back in 2014, with Saunders coming out on top. So while many are unable to digest what the purpose of a rematch is, Eubank is one of two names that came out of the champ's mouth.

Golovkin seems to be formidable and a threat to his title. It is one reason seen as to why he wants more money if a fight with the Kazakh knockout artist is to prosper.

The WBO is seen as something that could be easy picking for Saunders. The only names that could give him a challenge are Kerry Hope and Dominic Wade, as noted in a Boxing News 24 report, placing some doubt if he could ever get a big payday.
