Bomb explodes in Spain's Basque area

ETA guerrillas detonated a small bomb outside the headquarters of Spain's ruling Socialist Party in a Basque region town on Friday but there were no casualties, officials said.

The bombing in Derio, which followed a telephone warning, occurred ahead of Spain's March 9 parliamentary election. It was the second such incident this week.

ETA has killed more than 800 people in its campaign since the 1960s for independence for the Basque region.
