Billy Graham is a world-renowned evangelist, minister, author, and even a TV host. But did you know that he can also include singer in his long list of credentials?  Well, ok, not quite.  But he did appear in a Johnny Cash song once.

His son, Franklin Graham, took a trip down memory lane as he recalled the song called "The Preacher Said, Jesus Said," which Billy sang alongside Johnny Cash many years ago. "How about this for #TBT? My father Billy Graham and Johnny Cash on the same album! A friend brought me an original "Man in Black" album from 1971 because it has the song "The Preacher Said, 'Jesus Said' (with Billy Graham)." I found the song on YouTube and thought you might enjoy it," he wrote on Facebook.

Billy and Cash developed quite a friendship throughout the years, so when the singer passed away, Billy was heartbroken.

"Johnny Cash was not only a legend, but was a close personal friend. Johnny was a good man who also struggled with many challenges in his life," Billy wrote on his website. "Johnny was a deeply religious man. He and June came to a number of our Crusades over a period of many years. Ruth and I took a number of personal vacations with them at their home in Jamaica and in other places. They both were like a brother and sister to Ruth and me. We loved them."

Cash's tombstone, which is located just outside of Nashville, bears the inscription, "Meet Me in Heaven." It is also the title of one of Cash's song which was inspired by his brother, Jack, who died an untimely death after sustaining fatal injuries from a table saw accident in Dyess, Arkansas.

Before he passed away, Jack uttered the words: "Can you see them? Can you see all the angels around? Meet me in heaven."

Does the Church of England need to re-think its messaging?

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
