'Battlefield 1' release date news: Alpha test shows outstanding video quality

"Battlefield 1" EA DICE

Even if developer DICE and publisher EA requested "Battlefield 1" Alpha testers not to divulge any game information, they simply cannot resist the urge to share how fantastic-looking the game is. After seeing the videos and screenshots posted online, fans are now excited for the beta phase to start.

Gamers were able to immediately notice the high resolution the game can provide. The upcoming game is capable of delivering up to 2160p resolution with all the right equipment and settings, Parent Herald reported. WCCFTech added that the game could also have a 60Hz default tick rate for the PC version, but it seems that only 30 Hz is achievable on the consoles. The PC version will definitely perform better, visually, but the console version is not bad at all.

Those who were lucky enough to take part in the alpha phase praised the environment of the game, the First World War. There will be no wall running or exo-skeleton add-ons to allow for a bigger jump or faster running speed along the trenches or the barbed wires all around the place. It is the good-old muscle dynamics at work here, but the maps are well-designed, small enough for fans not to get lost in, but large enough for an infantry to enjoy.

Meanwhile, EuroGamer mentioned that fans can expect the following in its multiplayer game modes: Rush, Conquest, Team Deathmatch, Domination and Air Superiority. Conquest and Domination already appeared in the alpha, while Breakthrough and Possession will surely be included with the release of the game.

"Battlefield 1" is slated to arrive on Oct. 21, but fans purchasing the Early Enlister Deluxe Edition will have them by Oct. 18. As an added bonus, fans will receive the Hellfighter, Red Baron and Lawrence of Arabia packs, which are full of themed weapons and gear, as well as five extra Battlepacks, filled to the brim with extra goodies.

"Battlefield 1" will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC for US$79.99.
