The "Apocalypse" expansion for the popular first-person shooter game, "Battlefield 1," will be coming out in around a month. EA DICE has already released what the new expansion will be adding to the game. Eager fans will be happy to know that a lot of new maps will be added. Two of them would even be focusing on aerial combat.

As mentioned in the official blog, the five maps are Passchendaele, Caporetto, River Somme, Razor's Edge, and London Calling. Passchendaele takes its inspiration from the countryside of Belgium, although slightly more devastated. Caporetto is mountain trenches near the Isonzo River. River Somme, on the other hand, also includes wheatfields near the body of water.

Players will notice that the first three and the last two maps mentioned are separated. The first three are the usual maps. The last two are called "Knights of the Skies" which is generally made specifically for aerial dogfights. Finally, Razor's Edge offers a more snowy terrain while London Calling is situated in the airspace above London.

While the maps themselves are big additions, the expansion would not be complete without new guns, weapons, gadgets, and of course, aircraft to match the new maps. True enough, it offers all of those, although does not mention all specifics.

Melee weapons include meat cleavers and prybars while the new guns feature the RSC SMG and five others. There are also two bombers available when playing on the Caporetto map, the Hansa Brandenburg GI and the Airco DH10. Lastly, there is the new Air Assault game mode, which fans will just have to explore when they get the expansion.

The "Apocalypse" expansion will be released on February for those with the Premium Pass. Players can buy the Premium Pass for $50 on Origin and will give them access to all the expansions.
