It's halfway through the summer and retails stores across the nation have started their back to school sales.

Staples is currently having their annual penny sale. Every week, new items are being offered for only 1 cent each. This week, a 2-pocket paper folder, Staples school glue, and slider pencil cases are being sold for just a penny. Target is holding its back to college sale, where everything for student's furniture, kitchen, dining, bedding and electronics are sold at a reasonable price. For back to school fashion and apparel, tops are being sold for $5 and bottoms for $10. Uniforms are on sale, with polos starting at $5.

Old Navy's back to school sale is among the best for kids' jeans and shirts. All kids' denim are on sale for just $10 and graphic tees at just $5.

The back to school sale period is also the year's best time to shop for laptop and electronic deals, after Black Friday.
