'Avatar 2' update: Filming to begin next year; Zoe Saldana on her movie franchises

 from "Avatar"

Zoe Saldana is one busy woman, shooting one hit movie after another. On top of that, the actress is pregnant. With so many movies under her belt, she reveals what is next after her gigantic box office superhero flick "Guardians of the Galaxy."

Saldana has played a leading role in box office hits like "Guardians of the Galaxy," "Avatar" and "Star Trek." Moreover, all these movies have sequels so that should  keep her schedule busy.

Saldana told Vulture about her next big screen ventures:

"I do know that Avatar is coming first," Saldana said. "It's been the one in line for a while now, and we're just waiting for Jim to give us the green light so it can happen early next year. My backpack is ready!"

"Avatar" has a go signal for three sequels.

James Cameron directs "Avatar 2" and will work with Saldana with motion-capture as the effects for the movie will take a while to finish.

"Avatar 2" is set for release in December 2016.

After shooting "Avatar 2," next on the list is "Star Trek 3." However, the movie has no release date ye and Paramount Pictures is still deciding on the director. Roberto Orci is being discussed to direct the film. While the movie details remain unclear, Marvel Studios might book Saldana first. After all, her role in "Star Trek" is much smaller compared to "Guardians of the Galaxy."

Saldana is definitely on a roll: the girl always delivers. Plus, she's so kind that she gave all "Avatar" fans a hint about the current filming situation of the movie.
