'Assassin's Creed: Origins' rumors: New Game+ mode in the works?

"Assassin's Creed: Origins" players thankfully do not need the blessing of the Egyptian god Osiris to start anew in the Ancient Egyptian-themed game, as the developers might be preparing a New Game+ mode in the form of future updates.

Developer and publisher Ubisoft has announced in an online Q&A session that they might just consider implementing the feature given the overwhelming popular demand from their player base. This New Game+ or New Game Plus mode will let players start the game all over again with their old save files, which they used to finish the main story once.

This will let the players keep all their upgrades and weapons and armor and enjoy them in a new game+ mode with much harder difficulties compared to the default in order to scale with their endgame gear. The original game does let players continue roaming around even after they have finished the main story, but the level of the enemies leaves little to no challenge for their gear, hence the clamor for a New Game+ mode.

"We know that a large number of community members have requested a New Game+ feature. We are currently investigating the possibility of implementing this option in a future title update," said Ubisoft. This means that they may or may not see it through depending on how possible it is.

There is, however, a high possibility that a New Game+ mode may go through since it is quickly becoming an industry standard especially for games with some form of roleplaying game (RPG) elements such as skill trees, loot systems, and character customization. "Assassin's Creed: Origins," despite being a stealth action game primarily, has some of the heaviest RPG elements in the history of the franchise, and it would do well to have a New Game+ mode.

Right now, though, players will have to wait and see what Ubisoft will do for "Assassin's Creed: Origins."
