Next month, the much anticipated "Arrow" and "The Flash" crossover episodes will air on The CW, and fans cannot wait to see the two superheroes team up again as they save their respective cities from the bad guys.
Last year, viewers tuned in for the first crossover event, which saw Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Barry (Grant Gustin) butting heads at first before finally agreeing to work together. This year, not only will the Arrow and the Flash be joining forces to save Circuit City and Star City, but they will be working with other superheroes as well.
Speaking to Comicbook.com, Amell said that for the crossover, they shot a scene "that had, like, nine superheroes in it."
"Nine people with either superpowers or super-suits. It was an amazing thing to look out over the scene and see the world that has been built over the course of three-plus years," said the actor.
The image posted on the website shows seven superheroes standing side by side—Black Canary, Green Arrow, The Flash, Thea Queen's Speedy, Diggle, Hawkman, and Hawkgirl. It is possible that the other superheroes whom the Flash and Arrow will be working with are the White Canary, Atom and Firestorm.
The heroes will be teaming up against a common enemy—Vandal Savage. Vandal is an immortal who has caused problems for the human race since the beginning of time. According to MTV, when "Arrow" and "The Flash" spinoff "Legends of Tomorrow" premieres next year, the heroes will be traveling through time to stop Vandal from causing further chaos.
Aside from a promo picture, the plots for the crossover episodes have also been released. The special CW event will start with "The Flash" on Dec. 1, and in the episode titled "Legends of Today," Vandal Savage arrives in Central City and attacks Kendra and Cisco. The two ask Barry for help, and realizing how dangerous the villain is, Barry takes Kendra to Star City and asks Oliver to hide her until they can find a way to stop Vandal. But things take a bad turn when Hawkman flies off with Kendra.
For the second part of the crossover, which will air on "Arrow" on Dec. 2, the episode titled "Legends of Yesterday" will see Kendra and Carter hiding in while they figure out how to defeat Vandal. Malcolm arranges a meeting between Vandal, Green Arrow and the Flash, but the meeting takes a surprising turn. The hour will also see Felicity, Thea, Diggle, and Laurel working with Team Flash as they create a weapon powerful enough to end Vandal.
"The Flash" and "Arrow" crossover episodes will air on Dec. 1 and 2 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
