According to rumors, Apple is planning a stand-alone event next month reportedly to unveil its new lineups. One of the new products said to appear at the upcoming launch is the new Apple Watch 2. However, other observers are not sold on the idea and suggest that the new Apple wearable will most likely appear later this year, and may even come out alongside the iPhone 7.
In a report by Alphr, it is stated that the new Apple Watch 2 will share the limelight with iPhone 7, possibly at the annual September event by the Cupertino-based company. While this timeframe is not yet confirmed, having a new Apple Watch and iPhone by that time has been a consistent move by Apple to get their new products out in the market in time for the holidays.
In addition, while it is being said that an iPhone and a wearable will be launched next month, industry followers believe that the products will not be the next-gen follow-ups to their lineups. Instead, it is being speculated that the iPhone being launched next month will be the rumored iPhone 5se, the anticipated Apple smartphone with a 4-inch display. Meanwhile, as for a new wearable, the upcoming March event may see the launch of a refreshed version of the original Apple Watch, with new bands, improvements in the specs and design, and new features.
While it is still unclear whether Apple will launch a refreshed first-gen or the Apple Watch 2 by next month, a new Apple wearable by March is seemingly confirmed by how some retailers are slashing off their prices for the Apple Watch. According to Computer World, some retailers are putting discounts on the Apple Watch stocks by as much as $100, and this big reduction in prices may mean that retailers are readying themselves for a new Apple wearable.
