Apple March 21 event: Leaked video purportedly shows new iPhone SE

Inching closer to the device's supposed launch, a leak of the upcoming 4-inch iPhone has appeared online. The leak includes a video that supposedly showcases the consumer version of the new iPhone.

According to BGR, the video comes out of China. However, it is unclear if the unit in the footage is a real one or just a dummy, as the smartphone is not turned on. In addition, the industry follower observed that the phone in question deviates from other renders of what is being called the iPhone SE.

The footage shows a design that is a combination of both the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 6s. This runs contrary to earlier rumors that the new iPhone will borrow heavily from the iPhone 5s in its design, which is why it was previously designated as the iPhone 5 SE.

Speculations also claimed previously that the upcoming iPhone SE will be compatible with existing iPhone cases, which means that the 4-inch iPhone will not change much in terms of outside design.

Meanwhile, according to Apple Insider, inside sources claim that the Cupertino-based company is working on the official promo video of the 4-inch iPhone, in preparation for the March 21 "Infinite Loop" event.

The insider claims that Apple will highlight supposed 4K footage captured by the new iPhone. If this is proven to be true, then the new iPhone SE will feature the upgraded 12MP iSight camera of the current phones. It may also be plausible that the iPhone SE will also borrow other iPhone 6s features, such as NFC support for Apple Pay, Live Photos, and an A9 chipset.

The new iPhone will reportedly launch alongside other Apple products such as the 9.7-inch version of the iPad Pro, as well as a refreshed Apple Watch.
