The "Animal Crossing" mobile game, "Pocket Camp," which was released last year, did not exactly do well months after its release. Developer Nintendo is still giving its efforts to try reviving the game many fans have loved. As part of that effort, the company has released a New Years event to keep players engaged.

The announcement of the event was made via their official Twitter account. "Craft special furniture and complete new Timed Goals to unlock fun new clothing," reads the tweet. One new item added to the game that serves as a currency for the event is the Countdown Charms. This whole event is quite similar to the previously concluded holiday event where players had to collect Candy Canes.

These Countdown Charms are achievable by being able to complete requests for visiting animals, collecting minerals at the Shovelstrike Quarry, and of course, fulfilling both stretch and timed goals. The charms are the ones needed to craft the special furniture. Both the charms and the option to craft these items of furniture are only available for the duration of the event.

The easiest way to get these charms is actually through completing Timed Goals. However, players will find themselves hitting two birds with one stone as the Timed Goals also requires fulfilling requests of visiting animals. Note that players will have to collect enough charms before the list of special furniture will be displayed in the Limited Time tab under the Crafting menu.

It does not take long to craft the special furniture, with the longest taking only an hour and costing 250 charms. As for the clothing, the three new ones include the Blue haori, Kimono, and the Kimono Sandals. To unlock them, players will need to craft a fancy osechi, mochi pestle, and complete 20 animal requests respectively.

The New Year's event is live now and will run only until Jan. 10, 2018.
