Android Nougat release date: Google to drop full version next month?

Google has already confirmed that the next major Android platform update is named Android Nougat. Meanwhile, fans still speculate on when they can expect the full version of the new Android firmware.

When Google announced that a new major update for the Android platform is due this year, the tech giant laid out a roadmap for its fans. In the schedule, there may be at least five developer previews – beta versions – of the new platform before Google finally rolls out the user-focused, full version. Currently, the Android N beta is on its fourth developer preview, and speculations suggest that the full version may release as early as next month.

An August release for Android 7 is entirely possible, according to Alphr. However, the industry follower also notes that a more realistic timeframe for the full-blown release of the new firmware is at least a month after, so fans can expect the full roll out of Android N to start in September instead. Google may have hinted on this period previously, when it teased that Android 7 will come out "later this summer." Fans expect that once the full version is released, the very first devices that will get the Android Nougat platform are the flagship iterations in the Google Nexus lineups. Even the already-discontinued Nexus 9 is reported to be updating to the next-gen platform.

Meanwhile, although Google has yet to announce a specific release date for Android Nougat, many tech manufacturers are already saying that they will readily adapt the new platform. HTC has already confirmed that its flagships like the HTC 10, One M9, and One A9 iterations will get Android Nougat at the earliest once the full version is released. Other tech manufacturers are expected to follow suit thereafter.
