Android Nougat 7.0 Samsung updates: Leaked screenshots hint beta program launch is on track

The Android Nougat update for the Samsung Galaxy S7 is on track, as supposed images of the device's screens and system information after the update surface online.

In a series of posted photos, SamMobile has revealed that the beta program for the Samsung Galaxy Android Nougat update is progressing nicely, and it is likely that after the update has gone to roll out for the Galaxy S7, most of the devices in the lineup will follow. However, it is unclear on when the update will go out as a full version since the beta program is confirmed to be a staggered release. Only selected devices in selected countries will get the Android Nougat 7.0 beta for the Galaxy S7 at this time.

According to the industry follower, it is confirmed that the update works with the version G930FXXU1ZPK1 build of the Galaxy S7.

Most of the screenshots showcase the design and interface improvements that feature in the Android Nougat 7.0 platform. Interestingly, the observer also singled out one new feature that Samsung incorporated in the update — the New UX that comes packaged with Samsung's version of the Android Nougat.

Meanwhile, since the beta program is already live for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, it is expected that the full version of the Android 7.0 Nougat platform will be released before the year ends. It is unclear, though, if Samsung will also roll out test versions for the other Galaxy lineups that are expected to receive the new platform. After the Galaxy S7, it is expected that the update will roll out for the Galaxy S6 series, as well as the Galaxy Note 5 and Note 4. There are other Galaxy lineups that will likely be updated to Android Nougat 7.0 as well, like the newer editions Galaxy A and Galaxy C lineups, and the new variants for the Galaxy J series.
