Speculations suggest that the Android Nougat 7.0 platform may come out as early as this week for the Nexus lineups, and that the current-gen Nexus 6P and 5X are the first ones to receive the new update.

Noted tipster Evan Blass mentioned the schedule for Android 7.0 Nougat as early as last week, saying that a full version of the new Android platform may come out in the first week of August. Meanwhile, it has been reported that an owner of a Nexus 6P flagship has supposedly already received an Android 7.0 update notification by mistake, the update intended as an internal notification to Google employees.

Although the Android 7.0 update may come out earlier than expected, not all Nexus owners will be able to download the full version. It is revealed that Aside from the Nexus 6P and 5X, other devices compatible with the new platform only include Nexus 6 and the Nexus 9 tablet. This means that the Nexus 5 and older devices will not be able to upgrade to Nougat. After the Nexus devices, other compatible iterations outside of the lineup will start to get Android 7.0, possibly by early 2017.

Meanwhile, although the final version of the new Android 7.0 Nougat comes earlier than expected, fans should anticipate a late release for the new Google Nexus lineups. According to Droid-Life, LG has already announced that by next month, the LG V20 will come out with Android 7.0 Nougat. While the tech make has indirectly said it, the hint is in LG's statement, since supposedly, the LG V20 is the "world's first phone to launch Android 7.0 out of the box." The industry follower surmised that the rumored HTC-made Nexus 2016 flagships will come out after, debuting by early October instead.

Previously, it was rumored that the 2016 Google Nexus flagships will launch alongside the full version of Android 7.0 Nougat.
