Samsung has finally rolled out the fourth Android 8.0 "Oreo" beta for their flagship devices, Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones.
According to Android Police, the fourth Android 8.0 "Oreo" beta for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ started rolling out on Sunday, Dec. 17 for U.S. and UK consumers. The update (build number ZQL8 for both devices) brings a long list of bug fixes.
The fourth Android 8.0 "Oreo" beta will cost Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ users 850 MB of storage, which is a bit larger than the previous two betas. The second and third betas for the device was released in November.
The Android 8.0 update is expected to fix excessive battery consumption of the operating system (OS) on the Galaxy S8 and S8+. It is also expected to stop the devices from freezing for five seconds, as well as fix random vibrations and pictures not being visible in the gallery.
As per usual, Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ users are advised to back up their devices before installing the latest Android 8.0 "Oreo" beta to prevent loss of relevant data.
Speaking of the "Oreo" OS, the Android 8.1 update for the Google Pixel 2 XL devices has brought problems for the device. According to the Android Central report, users of the Google Pixel 2 XL took to Google's official support forum to voice their complaints.
As reported by some users, the Android 8.1 update for Google Pixel 2 XL has prompted the slow performance of the device's fingerprint sensor. Some users noted that it takes a second for the fingerprint sensor to unlock the device. Additionally, the screen turns on quite slow after pressing the power button on the device.
One user noted that the issues are fixed once they turn on Pixel 2 XL's "Always On" feature. This would, however, drain the battery faster.
A Google employee has already responded to their complaints and promised to look into the matter.
