After the first season of "Alias Grace" dropped on Netflix last Friday, Nov. 3, fans are now wondering if there will be a season 2. The future of the television adaptation of Margaret Atwood's 1996 novel remains uncertain, but a lot of fans are expecting to see its continuation.

As the show is considered as a miniseries, it is still not clear if it will be renewed. However, in the tradition of miniseries today, it is quite rare to see television shows that end after only one season.

Another Atwood novel adapted into a television series, "The Handmaid's Tale," has been renewed and will have a longer second season. So, there might be a big possibility that "Alias Grace" will have the same fate and be renewed for season 2.

Six episodes might have covered the entire story of "Alias Grace." However, that does not mean that the series has solved the mystery of Thomas Kinnear's (Paul Gross) murder or whether Grace Marks (Sarah Gadon) and Nancy Montgomery (Anna Paquin) are guilty.

That part of the story could be explored in "Alias Grace" season 2. Marks already called herself the "murderess," although it has yet to be revealed if she really killed someone. And although she has been imprisoned, a lot of fans still believe that she is innocent while some think that she is just going hysterical.

Also, viewers have been wanting to know Marks' real personality. She has been thinking how she could be the person that a lot of people surrounding her believe she is.

A lot of questions are still surrounding the CBC and Netflix series, so it will not be a surprise if it will be renewed for a second season. However, fans have to take these assumptions with a grain of salt as CBC has yet to announce the coming of "Alias Grace" season 2.
