3 practical ways to enjoy your life today

Enjoying life today requires that we do some things. Life won't just be beautiful for us if we live life passively, having a "come-what-may" attitude. No, it's not designed that way.

Do you want to enjoy your life today? Here are some practical tips for you to be able to enjoy it the way it should be enjoyed.

1. Leave yesterday behind

Friends, there's no point in living in the present if we keep dragging our past along. The past will always ruin our present lives, and at times we won't even notice it.

We all have to learn to leave our past behind, thinking that what's done is already done, and there's nothing we can do to change it. Instead of grieving for our past, we should be thankful that God brought us to where we are now, and that God's not done with us yet.

In the Complete Jewish Bible translation of Isaiah 43: 18-19, God tells us, "Stop dwelling on past events and brooding over times gone by; I am doing something new; it's springing up — can't you see it? I am making a road in the desert, rivers in the wasteland."

2. Don't worry about tomorrow

Sure, there's wisdom in preparing for our future, but there's no point in fretting or worrying about it, not one bit. To be honest about it, even if we do our best to prepare for the future, we all know that we don't know what tomorrow holds: we don't even know if we'll live the following day.

Instead, we should all live to please God day by day, doing our best to please Him in the present, and casting our cares for tomorrow unto Him for He cares for us (see 1 Peter 5:7; Psalm 55:22).

The Lord Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:34 (New Living Translation), "So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today."

3. Live every moment for the Lord

So now that we let go of the past and released our concerns for the future to the Lord, what's left for us to do? Enjoy the present, living every moment for the Lord! Yes, we're all privileged to do that.

Have you noticed that God wants us to leave the past and stop worrying about the future? It's because both can ruin our present lives. Instead of carrying past issues and future woes on our shoulders, we should instead give them to Jesus. Keep in mind that He died for the forgiveness of our sins (taking care of our past), and rose for our hope (which takes care of our future).

Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:31, "So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." Let's all do that every single moment.
