In the June 3 season finale, Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard took a step further from their courtship. They are now happily engaged with the wedding scheduled near the end of the month. Throughout Season 8, viewers saw the courtship bloom between Jill and Derick, including how they strictly followed the Duggar Rules—no holding hands, no kissing, n front hugging, etc.

The season finale was entitled "The Proposal," and it is exactly what took place. But, fans are left waiting and asking, what's next for Jill and Derick? Will they even get to see the couple wed? Or better yet, will "19 Kids and Counting" be renewed for Season 9?

The good news is that the show will be renewed for a new season, according to TV IV. But for the final confirmation, we just all have to wait and see.

What can be expected of Season 9? Well, fans are hoping to see the continuation of Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald's courtship, which is expected to end up in an engagement as well. So, that may just happen by next season. And for Jill and Derick fans, a wedding episode might be in the works... if Season 9 does push through.

Fans of "19 Kids and Counting" are all wishing that "The Proposal" is not the last episode of the entire series. Seeing the show's fan base, it looks like it's not going anywhere, says Allvoices.com.
