15,000 Londoners flock to OM ministry ship

|PIC1|The new ministry ship of Operation Mobilisation, Logos Hope, has welcomed 15,000 visitors onboard since it docked in London more than a week ago.

The 12,000 tonne vessel is manned by an entirely voluntary crew, with even the captain and officers receiving no salary.

It boasts the world’s largest floating book fair, which offers a selection of 6,000 books covering science, sports, hobbies and religion.

Visitors can take part in tours and educational seminars, or meet some of the 350 international crew members to hear their stories.

The ship’s visit has been hailed by Christian leaders in the capital as an opportunity to share the Gospel.

Nims Obunge, head of the Peace Alliance, said he was “blown away” by the ship and the passion of the crew members to serve God.

“I wanted this to come to London,” he said.

Crew members are encouraged to spend time with local Christians and reach out to the local community wherever they are docked.

Upon its arrival in London, 250 crew members were sent out on five double decker buses to pray throughout the capital.

In another outreach, crew members joined Pastor Jonathan Oloyede and his team of evangelists from City Chapel to blitz 4,200 homes in Beckton with Gospel tracts.
